Middle 'Sea' is a battleship-like game... but on the Grand Staff! Use this game to practice identifying notes on the Grand Staff (and to practice intervals & triads too!).
Materials included:
- TWO large 11x17 Middle 'Sea' Grand Staff Magnetic Boards
-
Note Magnets
- 12 Starfish (for one player/group)
- 12 Crabs (for another player/group)
-
White Magnets (for misses)
- 30 White (for one player/group)
- 30 White (for one player/group)
-
Colored Magnets (for hits)
- 24 Colored (for one player/group)
- 24 Colored (for one player/group)
Play one-on-one or in small groups. One player hides their notes on the Treble Clef, the other hides theirs on the Bass Clef in four different measures (two measures for a quicker game). Players guess where hidden notes are on the opponents side of the 'sea'. If they miss, both place a white magnet on the note to know not to guess there again, and if they hit a note, they use a colored magnet on top to mark that they hit!
Beginners: Hide triads starting on different notes. Intermediate players: Hide different size intervals in each of the measures.
